Israeli shelling near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital kills and wounds 40: Gaza government

The Gaza government media office says Israeli forces bombarded a house adjacent to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah, in central Gaza, in an area that the Israeli army had said was “safe”.
“This is a continuation of the deception and fabrications by the ‘Israeli’ occupation army to mislead public opinion,” the media office said.
The bombing led to more than 40 killed and wounded, it said in a statement, “which confirms that there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli occupation claims.”
“We condemn in the strongest terms the ongoing massacres and crimes of the occupation against our Palestinian people, and we call on the whole world to stop the genocidal war waged against civilians,” the media office added.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital has been widely threatened by Israeli fire since the expansion of the military operations in the middle governorate.
