Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for talks on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and bilateral ties.
Monday's meeting was the first official trip by an Israeli leader to Egypt in more than 10 years and focused on mutual economic and security concerns in the Palestinian territory.
Egypt, the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, has played a key role in mediating ceasefires between Israel and Palestinian groups through multiple periods of fighting and tension.
