Israel’s Supreme Court has called a new session for Monday, as it considers whether to hear the appeal of four Palestinian families threatened with eviction from their homes in occupied East Jerusalem.
The Israeli police have been attacking Palestinians protesting against the evictions in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.
The court had given the families until Thursday to resolve their dispute with a Jewish organisation that claims ownership over the land on which their homes were built as housing for Palestinian refugees after the creation of the state of Israel.
