There is growing uncertainty over Israel's ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, after the Israeli military pulled most of its troops out of southern Gaza on Sunday. Israel said it needed to prepare soldiers for future offensives, including into the city of Rafah, where more than a million people are sheltering. Meanwhile, some Palestinians have begun returning to their homes.
