Israel-Hamas war: Deputy PM has 'concerns over pro-Palestine marches' in UK

Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden has said he has "concerns" about the pro-Palestinian marches that have been taking place across the UK, with another one expected on Armistice Day.

He says that while he "understands the police have a very difficult job to do", he has concerns that the "Jewish community is fearful right now".

He drew a comparison with protests that followed the death of George Floyd in the US, and says there has not been the "same kind of moral clarity that Jewish lives matter".

"We need to send a clear signal that Jewish people are safe in this country," he told Sky's Trevor Phillips.
