Israel didn’t heed warnings from female soldiers before Hamas attack: says fallen soldier’s family

There are renewed calls for the Israeli government to address questions over the broad intelligence failure leading up to the attacks by Hamas on Oct. 7.

Recent media reports have outlined a series of internal intelligence warnings over the past year, warnings that were dismissed by Israel leadership. The most recent - and ominous - came from an all-female combat intelligence unit stationed on the Gaza border.

Global News spoke with the family of Roni Eshel, one of the soldiers who raised the alarms that went unheeded. She and many of her comrades were killed in the attacks their warnings could have prevented.
