The Israeli parliament has approved a law limiting the Supreme Court's ability to overrule government decisions. Until today, the 'reasonableness clause' allowed judges to block policies or appointments it deemed not in the public interest. Under the new law, the government will be able to hire and fire public servants without judicial oversight. The bill's approval comes despite months of protests that have divided the nation.
