But new soaring expenditure begs the questions, why are these countries willing to spend such incredible sums of money on atomic weapons, and are they making the world any safer? Tensions between the Lebanon-based group Hezbollah and Israel, that have been mounting during Israel's war on Gaza.
In what appears to be a serious lapse of security in Israel, Hezbollah has revealed surveillance video of sensitive sites inside the country.
Fighting across the border has intensified over the past week, after the Israeli military killed one of the group's senior commanders.
