Irving Oil refinery to slash carbon footprint with natural gas made from food waste

It’s a question that’s become more common for Canada’s largest emitters: what’s your carbon footprint?

At Irving Oil, the largest oil refinery in the country, officials in Saint John claim a new initiative will cut greenhouse gas emissions. The New Brunswick company says Aenergia, a Canadian company that turns waste into fuel, will supply it with 300 million cubic feet of what it says is carbon-negative natural gas.
