A military operation was launched in Iraq to drive IS militants from the Diyala Province. The mission came shortly after IS gunmen reportedly sneaked into army barracks, killing 11 Iraqi soldiers, and was carried out by police as well as army units and aerial support by the Iraqi Air Force.
