An arcus cloud loomed over Spain's Catalonia region on Friday, bringing intense lightning and heavy rains to some cities.
Residents were witness to a vibrant show of thunder and lightning.
Catalonia's weather service said that radar images showed what they called a "whirlwind line," and that the storm crossed Catalonia in the space of just two hours with wind speeds as high as 117 kilometres-per-hour.
