Head of the Myanmar team at the United Nations Human Rights Group James Rodehaver has said the Myanmar military "have gone overboard in terms of cutting off the access of the vast majority of the people to mobile data and internet services" making it difficult to get information from areas where the fighting is taking place.

Mr Rodehaver further explained why the crisis has lacked international focus.
