Chair of the review into medicines safety Baroness Cumberledge says she is "delighted" the government has agreed to offer £100,000 in compensation to victims of the infected blood scandal, which saw 2,400 people die from contracting HIV and hepatitis C.

Although despite the news of compensation from the government, Ms Cumberledge said she would take the suffering she and her team witnessed "to her grave" because it was "simply appalling".
