India's daily new COVID-19 fatality count today was reported below 300 - the first time after more than six months. Up to 251 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the overall count since the outbreak in January to 1,47,343. The country also logged 3.4 per cent fewer coronavirus cases since yesterday, at 22,273, government data shows. The total number of coronavirus cases has touched 1,01,69,118 and the number of those still receiving medical attention for this fell 252 to 2,81,667.
