The Prime Minister has warned the Indian variant of the virus is more transmissible than others and could pose a "serious disruption" to getting back to normal. Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty said he believes it will become the dominant variant in the UK.
To combat a surge in cases, there will be a surge in vaccinations, and if you're over 50 or clinically vulnerable you will now wait just eight weeks between doses.
