Rahul Gandhi created a stir with his tweet comparing India to Sri Lanka. Putting out the tweet with the graphs on unemployment, petrol prices and communal violence, Mr Gandhi said that "India looks a lot like Sri Lanka". Sri Lanka is of course facing its worst ever economic crisis, where there is a shortage of food, fuel and even medicines. India is also witnessing communal tensions in some form or the other and here too, the economy is facing headwinds. But is Rahul Gandhi accurate or alarmist in comparing India to Sri Lanka?
