Schools are set to reopen on Monday in the Indian state of Karnataka after they were closed because of violent standoffs between students.
Female students have been protesting against a ban on the hijab, a religious headscarf worn by some Muslim women, in class.
Karnataka is governed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party.
It is being accused of fostering discrimination.
