A bride and groom in the southern Indian state of Kerala on Monday navigated a flooded road by floating in a giant cooking pot to get to their own wedding ceremony.

A few men guided the vat through the floodwater, with the couple able to eventually perform their wedding rituals in the city of Alappuzha.

Meanwhile in the northern state of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas on Tuesday to assess the situation as at least 34 people have lost their lives.

Floods triggered by incessant rains have inundated acres of farmlands and residential areas in India's northern and southern states.
