In full: Life sentence recommended for Parkland massacre gunman Nikolas Cruz

A jury has reached a verdict on the gunman facing the death penalty for the 2018 Parkland massacre in Florida.

Nikolas Cruz had pleaded guilty last October to 17 counts of murder in the 2018 Valentine's Day massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The jury found that mitigation for his troubled upbringing outweighed the gravity of his crime, so that the death sentence was not justified.
