Indigenous nations are leading global efforts to protect the planet's biodiversity. Nearly 90 per cent of protected areas created over the past two decades have been led by Indigenous nations, and many more have been proposed.

Eric Sorensen explains why their efforts are succeeding and how they'll promote their initiatives at December's United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP 15) in Montreal.
