An agricultural policy advisor has supported calls for government to wean off farmers from fertilizer subsidies.
A joint police and national security operation last week, saw over 500 smuggled bags of cocoa fertilizer impounded.
In an interview with JoyNews, Abraham Dwuma Odoom said such policies have often been counter-productive given the lack of supervision and poor implementation.
He said it is time to approach agric as a full commercial venture. He's also attributed government's failure to deal with the menace of illegal mining to lack of leadership and patriotism. #JoyNews
