Immigration is the 'single biggest threat to many people' says Lord Heseltine | Election 2024

Former Conservative deputy prime minister Lord Heseltine says that immigration is the "single biggest threat to many people", as those living in acute poverty will try to come to the West - and the problem will only increase with climate change.

These were not "idlers or shirkers" he said, but are "young and energetic people" and want a "share of what we take for granted."

Immigrants are "an immense contribution to our wellbeing and living standards" Lord Heseltine says, but the UK "cannot accept a free flow of endless numbers."
