A day after being elected as the Scottish National Party (SNP) leader, Humza Yousaf has been formally elected as Scotland's first minister.
He will lead the semi-autonomous parliament following the shock resignation of his predecessor Nicola Sturgeon last month.
But the SNP still appears to have a long way to go to achieve its aim of full independence from the United Kingdom.
