Police in Brazil say a man has confessed to fatally shooting an Indigenous rights expert and a British journalist who went missing earlier this month. The suspect led officers to a remote area where he said the bodies were buried.

The search for Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira has shed light on tensions between local Indigenous communities and illegal poachers, fishermen and and mining companies in the Amazon.
