US Vice President Kamala Harris has made her first public appearance since beginning her bid to win the Democratic nomination for president. At an event at the White House, she praised President Biden's achievements and talked about her professional relationship with his son. Meanwhile, leading members of the Democratic party are rallying behind Harris' bid to win the party's nomination. Veteran Democrat and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has given Harris her endorsement. And Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who had been tipped to throw her hat into the ring, also supports the Harris campaign.
