Tom Clarke speaks to photography experts to find out how the Princess of Wales doctored a royal photograph that was put out to celebrate Mother's Day.

Picture agencies around the world issued "kill notices" on Sunday to their media clients after it emerged the photograph had been manipulated, probably by using image editing software.

It calls into question how the public can trust photographs released by official bodies - a situation made worse by powerful AI tools that can create real-life images.
