The Group of Seven (G7) countries have agreed to start taxing multinational corporations.
Richer nations, including Canada, have been working to hold companies like Google, Amazon and Facebook accountable for profiting off sales in their countries, in jurisdictions where they often pay little to no taxes.
The hope is that this new tax will help economies around the world recover from the blow from the COVID-19 pandemic.
