Households paid to reduce energy usage due to wind power shortages

The Demand Flexibility Scheme will see households paid to reduce their energy usage as recent cold weather and a lack of wind means generation from turbines has been limited.

Also - the Prime Minister of Pakistan has apologised to the nation after a power cut left millions without power during harsh winter weather conditions.

Meanwhile, a charity has bought 460 acres of farmland as part of a plan to create a nature reserve in all 48 English counties.
