A change to Hong Kong’s immigration law takes effect on Sunday.
Critics say it will give the government sweeping powers to stop people from leaving or entering.
The government denies this, insisting it is aimed at screening illegal immigration at source amid a backlog of asylum claims and that people’s rights to free movement will not be affected
