प्रधानमंत्री की आर्थिक सलाहकार परिषद की एक स्टडी से पता चला है कि भारत में 65 साल के बीच हिंदुओं की आबादी घट गई है. देश में 1950 और 2015 के बीच बहुसंख्यक धर्म वाले हिंदुओं की आबादी 7.8% कम हो गई है. जबकि कई पड़ोसी देशों में बहुसंख्यक समुदाय की आबादी में जबरदस्त उछाल देखने को मिला है. स्टडी के अनुसार, 1950 में भारत की जनसंख्या में हिंदुओं की हिस्सेदारी 84% थी. 2015 तक यह घटकर 78% हो गई है. इसी अवधि में मुसलमानों की हिस्सेदारी 9.84% से बढ़कर 14.09% हो गई है.

A study by the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council has revealed that the population of Hindus in India has declined over the last 65 years. The population of Hindus, who are the majority religion in the country, has decreased by 7.8% between 1950 and 2015. Whereas in many neighboring countries there has been a tremendous increase in the population of the majority community. According to the study, in 1950 the share of Hindus in India's population was 84%. By 2015 it has reduced to 78%. During the same period, the share of Muslims has increased from 9.84% to 14.09%.
