A new report by The Lancet warns that heat-related deaths could quadruple by 2050 if substantial changes to global emissions or environmental mitigation measures are not taken.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), stated that “WHO joins the reports call for transformative action to reduce air pollution and increase health equity.”

The Lancet report also found that global fossil fuel investment increased by 10 per cent in 2022.

Kyle Benning reports.
