Farmers Protest Live Updates: The resistance from the government of Haryana, a farmers' state, to let farmers march to Delhi is baffling, Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav, adding that Deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, who claims to be farmers' representative, should resign if he has any conscience. "The least he can do is step down and apologise to the farmers," Mr Yadav said. Farmers from six states - Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Kerala and Punjab - have been planning the protests for two months, after the centre cleared three laws meant to bring reforms and improve farmers' earnings by allowing them to sell their produce in the commercial market, anywhere in the country. The farmers want these laws repealed.
