In a significant political development ahead of Gujarat assembly elections to be held later this year, Hardik Patel has removed ‘working president of Gujarat Congress’ from his Twitter bio. Patel’s Twitter bio now reads only ‘Proud Indian Patriot. Social and Political Activist’. This has further fuelled speculations that he is going to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Gujarat Assembly polls. Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Jagdish Thakor had last month invited Patel for talks post his public outburst against the leadership of the grand old party’s state unit.
