The Supreme Court has put an interim stay on the ongoing archaeological survey in the Gyanvapi campus of Varanasi. This ban will continue till 5 pm on Wednesday i.e. 26 July. The Supreme Court has said that in the meantime, the mosque side should file an appeal against the order of the District Judge in the Allahabad High Court and the matter should be heard on Wednesday itself. The High Court will give further orders regarding the survey. On Friday at 4:30 pm, Varanasi District Judge Ajay Kumar Vishwesh ordered the ASI survey of the Gyanvapi campus. Today i.e. from 7 am on Monday, the ASI team reached there and started their work. Meanwhile, at 10:40 in the morning, the matter went before the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court on behalf of the Muslim side. Senior advocate Huzaifa Ahmadi, appearing for the Muslim side, demanded an immediate stay on the survey. He claimed that the district judge has ordered excavation in the mosque premises. This can cause damage to the building. This is also in violation of the order of the Supreme Court, in which it was said that no harm should be done to the mosque. Senior advocate Shyam Dewan, appearing for the Hindu side, vehemently opposed it. He said that no excavation work is going on in the mosque premises. On this, the Chief Justice asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to find out from the Archaeological Survey of India what kind of action is being taken there at present. At 11:19 in the morning, the Solicitor General told that the ASI is again doing the work of marking the places there. Also, pictures are being taken and radar technology is being used. Not even a brick has been moved there. There is no plan to dig for the next 1 week.

वाराणसी के ज्ञानवापी परिसर में चल रहे पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने अंतरिम रोक लगा दी है. यह रोक बुधवार यानी 26 जुलाई को शाम 5 बजे तक जारी रहेगी. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि इस बीच मस्जिद पक्ष जिला जज के आदेश के खिलाफ इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट में अपील दाखिल करे और बुधवार को ही इस पर सुनवाई हो. सर्वे को लेकर आगे का आदेश हाई कोर्ट ही देगा.शुक्रवार को शाम 4:30 बजे वाराणसी के जिला जज अजय कुमार विश्वेश ने ज्ञानवापी परिसर के ASI सर्वे का आदेश दिया था. आज यानी सोमवार सुबह 7 बजे से ASI की टीम ने वहां पहुंचकर अपना काम शुरू कर दिया. इस बीच सुबह 10:40 पर मुस्लिम पक्ष की तरफ से सुप्रीम कोर्ट के चीफ जस्टिस के सामने मामला गया. मुस्लिम पक्ष के लिए पेश वरिष्ठ वकील हुजैफा अहमदी ने सर्वे पर तत्काल रोक की मांग की. उन्होंने दावा किया कि जिला जज ने मस्जिद परिसर में खुदाई का आदेश दिया है. इससे इमारत को नुकसान पहुंच सकता है. यह सुप्रीम कोर्ट के भी उस आदेश का उल्लंघन है, जिसमें कहा गया था कि मस्जिद को कोई नुकसान न पहुंचाया जाए. हिंदू पक्ष के लिए पेश वरिष्ठ वकील श्याम दीवान ने इसका जोरदार विरोध किया. उन्होंने कहा कि मस्जिद परिसर में कोई खुदाई का काम नहीं चल रहा है. इस पर चीफ जस्टिस ने सॉलीसीटर जनरल तुषार मेहता से कहा कि वह आर्कियोलॉजिकल सर्वे ऑफ इंडिया से यह पता करें कि वहां इस समय किस तरह की कार्रवाई हो रही है. सुबह 11:19 पर सॉलिसीटर जनरल ने बताया कि ASI वहां पर फिर पैमाइश यानी जगहों को चिन्हित करने का काम कर रही है. साथ ही, तस्वीरें ली जा रही हैं और रडार टेक्नोलॉजी का इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है. वहां पर एक ईंट भी नहीं सरकाई गई है. अगले 1 हफ्ते तक खुदाई करने की कोई योजना नहीं है.
