A war of words between the United Nations and Israel is escalating with the Israeli ambassador calling for the resignation of Secretary General Antonio Guterres after a speech on Tuesday.

Guterres spoke to the media earlier, saying he wished to 'set the record straight' and criticised those who claimed he justified attacks by Hamas.
