For months, in the town of Gulgong, in central western New South Wales, the local hospital did not have a single doctor. Sharelle Fellows, Kathy Pearson and Kitty Eggerking started a petition demanding that change: that a doctor be employed to work at their hospital. They collected thousands of signatures and were successful as Gulgong has reemployed a doctor. They are encouraging others from surrounding country towns to demand the same.
