Mumbaikars will be able to ride on two new metros which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the Maharashtrian New Year Gudi Padwa on Saturday. Services between Aarey station on the congested Western Express Highway and Dahanukarwadi will be open to commuters. By August this year, the entire line from DN Nagar in Andheri West to Gundavali in Andheri East will be operational. The two lines are expected to carry over 3 lakh passengers daily and cut commute time from one hour in peak traffic to 15 minutes only.
