Government announces an extra £3.5bn for cladding removal

Thousands of people who live in high rise buildings with unsafe cladding have been promised that they will have to pay no extra costs to remove the dangerous material.

The housing secretary has announced that 3.5 billion pounds of extra funding will be allocated to help leaseholders.

However campaigners and some MPs have said that the measures are inadequate to meet the scale of the problem.
