Recovery efforts are still underway in Buffalo, New York, after last week’s deadly blizzard left more than 30 people dead.

But as the community digs its way out of what’s being called a once-in-a-generation snowstorm, the efforts of some Good Samaritans are coming to light.

Erica Vella looks at some of the heroic action taken by citizens, including a Buffalo barber who sheltered dozens of people to safety in his barbershop.
