In our top story: Queen Elizabeth II's coffin has been transported from Balmoral Castle to Edinburgh, drawing thousands of people along the route to pay their respects. Three days after her death, the country is starting to say goodbye to the queen, with her coffin to remain in Edinburgh. Europe Bureau Chief Crystal Goomansingh reports on the journey of the queen and people's reactions.

In Canada, Pierre Poilievre was voted in as the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and His Majesty's Loyal Opposition on Saturday. His leadership campaign centred on freedom and won with a decisive victory. But as David Akin reports, the very message that won him so much support is the message his opponents will be using against him.

Plus, in Saskatchewan, the first funerals are underway for the victims of the stabbings that occurred last weekend on the James Smith Cree Nation and town of Weldon. But as the police investigation continues, there are mounting calls for a public inquiry. Mike Armstrong reports.

And Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Gov. Gen. Mary Simon and the country's high commissioner to the U.K., Ralph Goodale have been invited to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Sept. 19. Global's Dawna Friesen spoke with Goodale after meeting the new King and other representatives from other Commonwealth countries.
