Global National: June 10, 2022 | Airport COVID-19 testing to be paused in light of delays

With airport delays a prominent feature across Canada as a result of added travel measures from the pandemic, the Canadian government announced measures on Friday that may change that. From June 11 to June 30, Canada will temporarily stop the random COVID-19 tests at airports for international travellers entering the country. Unvaccinated travellers will still need to be tested on site. Matthew Bingley has more on the changes.

On the jobs front, the unemployment rate has dipped to a new low as Canada has been creating more jobs— including more opportunities for women, who face higher job losses in the pandemic. As Eric Sorensen explains, even with this trend, businesses are still having trouble filling roles.
