Germany is saying goodbye to nuclear power. Reactors representing almost half the country's nuclear capacity are due to be shut down by the end of this year. The remainder will be switched off during the course of 2022. It could be seen as the worst possible time to do it, with Europe battling an energy crisis. But the big switch-off is being met with glee from anti-atomic activists.
