Germany is hoping to have mass vaccination centres ready next month so it can start immunising people as soon as it approves a vaccine.
Hundreds of booths are being created inside large warehouses or exhibition halls where thousands of people can safely be immunised daily.
Six of these centres are planned across Berlin - serving a population of about 3.6 million.
Unlike the United Kingdom, Germany has said it will not rush to approve any particular vaccine - until it is proven safe.
