Professional football is big business in Germany - and it has hopes of becoming even bigger. The Bundesliga is one of the world's most popular sports leagues, but it lags far behind the likes of England's Premier League when it comes to viewership and revenues. Now Germany's first and second league clubs have agreed to a plan to secure private equity investment in return for a share of TV rights over the next two decades. But fans have been less enthusiastic.
