Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin will spend 22.5 years in prison for fatally kneeling on George Floyd's neck for over nine minutes, as one of the most watched murder cases in the U.S. comes to an end.

Both Derek Chauvin and his mother spoke at the sentencing, and Floyd’s family shared emotional impact statements with the court.

As Jackson Proskow reports, Floyd’s daughter said she’d tell her father “I miss you and I love you” if given a chance.
