Inflation, interest rate hikes, expensive housing, and more strains are putting pressure on millennial and Gen Z Canadians in a post-pandemic world. But, despite this, a recent survey reveals young people desire to financially prepare for their golden years, including seeing the value of a workplace pension plan.

"We know that particularly those that don't have a workplace pension, they're going to have to figure this out on their own. And that means starting [saving] as soon as they possibly can," Abacus chair and CEO David Coletto said.

As Alexia Kapralos reports, the survey by Abacus Data and the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan also shows that 51 per cent of those surveyed under 35 years old say they'd forego a higher salary for a job with a pension plan.
