Gazans said Saturday they felt there was nowhere left to go after Israel renewed its bombardment of the besieged enclave following a collapsed week-long truce between Israel and Hamas.

“It’s enough we were evacuated (from) Gaza, and were humiliated, we saw humiliation and death and suffered a great deal. It is enough we left Gaza, we will not leave here,” said Nihad Abu Habel, a displaced resident of Gaza city who has settled in Khan Younis.

Israel said it had hit more than 400 Hamas targets throughout Gaza over the past day, including more than 50 strikes in the city of Khan Younis. But it rejected the claim that there were no safe places in Gaza, stating that there were maps designating safe areas.

“The maps are there. People can see where they are and where people should go to,” said Mark Regev, senior advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Regev said maps had been sent to humanitarian organizations to help them relocate residents to safer areas.
