A spokesperson for the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) said Sunday that Gazans were at a “breaking point,” a day after its aid centres in the besieged enclave were looted for essential items such as flour.

UNRWA director of communications Juliette Touma said the situation at aid warehouse and distribution centres highlighted the extent of the despair people in Gaza are experiencing.

“The levels of frustration and despair are really very high and people are hitting rock bottom when it comes to their patience, their ability to take more,” she said.

Aid supplies to Gaza have been choked since Israel began its bombardment of the densely populated enclave.
