December isn’t over yet and already it has been the deadliest month in the United States since the start of the pandemic. Over the Christmas holiday, Los Angeles County recorded 43,000 new cases and 186 deaths. Hospitals in other parts of southern California are so overwhelmed, intensive care units have been set up outside to handle the overflow of patients. Just as we see a glimmer of hope with new vaccines rolling out, a new variant of Covid-19 has reared its ugly head. As RT America’s Alex Mihailovich explains, it's quickly spreading around the globe. Just as Covid-19 vaccines are beginning to be administered across the United States, some hospital workers have delayed their own vaccinations because of concern over safety. It wasn't that long ago that US President Donald Trump railed against National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden, calling him a traitor and even hinting at his alleged crimes as something worth facing execution. Now, nearly a decade since Snowden's infamous whistleblowing revealed the NSA's domestic spying program, the president is allegedly weighing a pardon for Snowden.
