A star of France's golden age of film has died at the age of 88.
Jean-Paul Belmondo became known as a symbol of rebellion and anarchy - and the face of the French New Wave cinema of the 1950 and 1960s.
He is best known for the film Breathless which director Jean-Luc Godard helmed.
